1. Who We Are

Lir — Maritime AI is operated by XeroHuman AI LLC and is accessible at asklir.com. For privacy inquiries, contact us at hello@asklir.com.

2. Information We Collect

Account information — When you sign in via Clerk, we collect the account information you provide, including your email address and authentication metadata. Clerk may use email codes, Google, Apple, or passkeys. We do not store passwords directly.

Vessel profile data — If you enter vessel dimensions or equipment information, this data is stored on our servers to provide vessel-specific bridge, route, and engineering intelligence.

Voyage and briefing data — Voyage queries, route inputs, generated briefings, and saved plans may be stored to provide persistence, saved-plan access, and service operation.

Usage and analytics data — We collect server logs for debugging and security monitoring and use Google Analytics 4 for product measurement. Logs are retained according to operational needs.

Payment data — Payments are handled by Stripe. Card data does not touch or get stored on Lir's servers; we receive payment and subscription identifiers needed to provide paid access.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and provide access to the platform
• To compute personalized bridge clearances using your vessel dimensions
• To store and retrieve vessel profiles, voyage queries, briefings, and saved plans
• To process and manage subscriptions via Stripe
• To debug errors and maintain platform security
• To send transactional emails related to your account (via Clerk)

We do not use your data for behavioral advertising, sell it to data brokers, or share it with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. Third-Party Services

Lir uses the following third-party processors and live data sources:

• Clerk — Identity and authentication. Subject to Clerk's Privacy Policy at clerk.com/privacy.
• Stripe — Payment processing for the paid plan. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• Google Analytics 4 — Product analytics and measurement. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Federal data APIs — NOAA, USGS, USACE, and USCG public APIs. No personal data is transmitted to these agencies.

5. Data Sources and Navigation Data Accuracy

Lir queries federal data sources (NOAA, USGS, USACE, USCG) live. Navigation notices may be processed and matched to routes or locations automatically, and those matches may contain errors.

We encourage users to report inaccuracies to hello@asklir.com. Do not rely solely on Lir data for navigation decisions.

6. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt-out of sale — We do not sell personal data, so no opt-out is required
• Portability — Request your vessel profile and community notes in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@asklir.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

Account and vessel data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. Server logs are retained for 30 days. Community notes you submit are retained until you request removal or your account is deleted.

8. Security

Lir uses HTTPS for connections, Clerk for authentication, and Stripe-hosted payment collection. We do not store plaintext passwords or payment card numbers. Database access is restricted by network policy.

9. Children's Privacy

Lir is designed for professional and recreational mariners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made. Continued use of Lir after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
