Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lir — Maritime AI (available at asklir.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and XeroHuman AI LLC, the operator of Lir. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

Lir is a maritime navigation intelligence platform for captains on U.S. waters. It answers questions about charts, regulations, seamanship, and engineering using authoritative maritime sources and live federal data from NOAA, USGS, USACE, and USCG. It can provide passage planning, bridge-clearance intelligence, area briefings, and vessel-specific assistance.

Features, data availability, and pricing are subject to change. We make no guarantee of uninterrupted access.

3. Navigation Data Disclaimer

Lir aggregates data from official federal sources but makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed. Specifically:

• Bridge clearance calculations are derived from USGS and NOAA gauge readings and may not reflect current conditions due to gauge failures, transmission delays, or extreme hydrological events.
• USCG Notices to Mariners (LNMs/BNMs) are geo-tagged using AI-assisted placement. Geographic coordinates assigned to notices may be inaccurate. Always cross-reference against official NAVCEN publications.
• Community Notes are user-submitted observations and have not been independently verified. They may be outdated, inaccurate, or inapplicable to your vessel type.
• Lir does not replace NOAA Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) or official Raster Nautical Charts (RNCs). The base map is a general-purpose cartographic tile layer and is not a nautical chart.
• Lock status, chamber availability, and approach conditions may not reflect real-time USACE operational status.

Lir is advisory only and is designed for passage planning. Always verify all navigation-critical information against current official sources before getting underway. You are solely responsible for the safe navigation of your vessel.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LIR AND XEROHUMAN AI LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO VESSEL DAMAGE, GROUNDING, ALLISION, COLLISION, INJURY, LOSS OF CARGO, OR REGULATORY PENALTY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to discontinue use. If, notwithstanding the above, Lir or XeroHuman AI LLC is found liable for any damages, that liability shall be limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months preceding the claim.

5. Accounts and Registration

Access to Lir requires account registration via Clerk. Clerk may authenticate you using email codes, Google, Apple, or passkeys. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at hello@asklir.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account. Lir reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these terms.

6. Payment and Subscription

Lir offers one paid plan at $30.00/month. First-time subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. A card is required today; cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. A free tier may also be available when shown in the application.

• Payments are processed by Stripe. By initiating a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time through Stripe's customer portal.
• Refund requests should be sent to hello@asklir.com; any refund is subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the request.
• Card data is processed by Stripe and does not pass through or get stored on Lir's servers.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Submit false, misleading, or harmful Community Notes
• Attempt to access, scrape, or bulk-download the platform's data through automated means without written authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform
• Impersonate another mariner or falsify your vessel credentials
• Use the platform to provide navigation services to third parties on a commercial basis without authorization

8. Federal Data and Compliance

Lir queries data from U.S. federal agencies (NOAA, USGS, USACE, USCG) under their respective public data use policies. This service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any federal agency. Federal data is provided as-is and Lir makes no representations on behalf of those agencies.

USCG Notice to Mariners data is sourced from the Navigation Center (NAVCEN). Users are responsible for checking official NAVCEN publications and their applicable Local Notice to Mariners for their area of operation.

9. Intellectual Property

The Lir name, logo, platform design, and proprietary software are owned by XeroHuman AI LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Federal government data displayed within the platform remains in the public domain per applicable law.

Content you submit remains your intellectual property, but you grant XeroHuman AI LLC a non-exclusive license to use it to provide and improve the service.

10. Termination

Lir may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or at our sole discretion with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting hello@asklir.com.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.
